It is a targeted program for poor initiated by the government of Nepal through the issuance of "Poverty Alleviation Fund Ordinance 2060 (2003)" and subsequently "Poverty Alleviation Fund Act 2063 (2006)".
PAF is concern with reaching out to the poor and excluded communities.
The 12 members governing board, chaired by the Prime Minister, is responsible for policy guidance and program approval. The Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) Nepal is a vital initiative dedicated to reducing poverty and enhancing living standards for marginalized communities across the country. Established in 2004, PAF focuses on empowering low-income households through targeted economic and social development programs. By fostering community involvement and supporting income-generating activities, such as small-scale enterprises and vocational training, PAF aims to create sustainable livelihoods. Additionally, the fund invests in essential services like education, health, and sanitation, with particular attention to the needs of women, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities. Collaborating closely with local governments, NGOs, and community-based organizations, PAF ensures effective project implementation and impactful results. As a Portfolio Manager at PAF, I oversee and manage a range of projects, ensuring their successful execution, efficient resource allocation, and positive outcomes for the communities we serve.
