Overview: Established in 2050 BS, the Nepal Women Entrepreneurs Association (NWEA) is a non-profit organization based in Taplejung. Founded by women, NWEA aims to foster a prosperous and inclusive community by mobilizing local resources and addressing key issues such as human rights, democracy, community health, skill development, poverty alleviation, and climate change. Despite challenges during conflict periods, the organization has consistently engaged directly with communities to drive development and social inclusion.
Services Offered: NWEA focuses on agriculture, tourism development, community development, health, education, micro-entrepreneur development, awareness raising, income generation, capacity building, accountability, and infrastructure development. Its work targets women, children, and other disadvantaged groups, with a strategic emphasis on protecting and promoting economic, social, and cultural rights.
Role: As Executive Director, I played a pivotal role in leading the organization’s strategic initiatives, overseeing program implementation, and fostering community engagement. My responsibilities included managing operations, driving advocacy efforts, and ensuring effective project execution to meet the organization’s mission and goals.
